MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv, is planning a significant overhaul of its satellite service to address ongoing subscriber losses and better appeal to younger viewers. The revamp will focus on restructuring channel bouquets and may include the unbundling of SuperSport from DStv. The company is currently conducting customer research to identify new packaging models for the South African market, and these changes are expected to be decided within the next six months. Notably, MultiChoice recently allowed users to stream on two devices simultaneously, up from one[1].

For July 2025, DStv subscribers have a wide range of fresh content, including the latest seasons of popular series:

  • Street Outlaws: Locals Only S2 (Discovery Channel)
  • Mean Girl Murders S3 (ID)
  • Pawn Stars S25 (HISTORY Channel)
  • Tyler Perry’s Sistas S9 (BET)
  • Castle Impossible (HGTV)
  • Polyfamily S1

Other notable premieres include “MobLand,” “Wicked Death Valley S1,” and “Magda Louw S3.” There are also documentaries and local dramas throughout the month[2].

From June 16 to July 31, 2025, DStv is running a mid-year upgrade campaign. During this period, subscribers who pay their account in full are eligible for a free upgrade to the next package tier, allowing access to more channels and content at no additional cost[4][5].

DStv Compact Plus subscribers can look forward to several exclusive content highlights in July, such as “Govan Ontbloot,” a docu-series exploring untold South African stories, live coverage of the Tour de France 2025, and new factual and reality programming like “Thirst with Shay Mitchell,” “Pharaohs at War,” and “Wie Word ’n Miljoenêr?”[7][8]
