IShowSpeed, a prominent YouTube and streaming figure, is returning to Twitch as part of his new IRL European tour starting July 7, 2025. This marks his first appearance on Twitch since his 2021 ban, and the streams will be broadcast on both YouTube and Twitch, with planned visits to at least 14 countries, including Spain, France, and Poland[5].

Twitch is currently hosting several major community events and in-game drop campaigns, such as the Summer Drops Fest 2025. Viewers can earn exclusive in-game rewards by watching select streamers in categories like The FINALS, World of Warcraft, and Arena Breakout Infinite, with special collaborations and Twitch Drops active throughout July and beyond[1]. Additionally, Marvel Rivals has announced a new round of Twitch Drops beginning July 11, allowing viewers to unlock exclusive cosmetics for Hawkeye by watching streams for specific durations[7].

At TwitchCon Rotterdam 2025, Twitch unveiled a series of significant platform upgrades. Notable new features include dual-format and 2K streaming in Open Beta, customizable sub gift promotions, the introduction of the interactive Combos feature, and substantial upgrades to the mobile app tailored to the growing MENA (Middle East and North Africa) audience. These changes reflect Twitch’s focus on expanding streamer growth and global reach, especially in emerging markets[6].

On the monetization and policy front, Twitch has implemented several updates designed to benefit creators of all sizes. Monetization tools like subscriptions and Bits are now available to most streamers from day one, instead of being gated behind the affiliate program. Streamers can also take advantage of new creator-focused tools and expanded moderation functions. However, advertising revenue share remains restricted to Twitch partners or affiliates[3][4]. Additionally, the Treasure Train feature offers viewers up to 35% off Tier 1 subscription bundles, aiming to boost support for streamers[2].

From a technical standpoint, Twitch introduced picture-in-picture ad formats so ads no longer fully interrupt live streams, enhancing the viewer experience and maintaining audience engagement. There are also new limits, such as a 100-hour storage cap for Highlights and Uploads[2].
